i actually listened to my shortwave last night after our showers at the next door neighbours' place. well, i tried to. it's apparently impossible to pull anything in any more, even when the power is out. but it was vaguely calming, so that was nice.

eating such a small dinner last night really clobbered me today. i was freezing, headachey, and weak the moment i woke up, and i put getting out of bed off as long as i could, because i knew breakfast was still a ways off.

at this point the headache is mostly gone, but i'm still fighting low energy and pain demons, as well as struggling to warm up.

the thing that seemed to warm me best, was that turkey jerky. i wish it wasn't gone, but on the other hand, at least it lasted three days.

Dad just got done doing an amazing job of "shoveling" our driveways with the tractor.

Mom worked on the soup, and did other various tidying, cleaning, and other things while I filmed and watched dad.

Once I came in and rested, I tried to catch up a bit on the toilet water bucket brigade.

we just heard the whelgas ensemble - the legend of orpheus via "early music now" show. it was so enchanting, we all sat and listened in rapt silence. it was quite beautiful.

we never would have shared this moment if not for the storm. silly.
